About Jonathan Baran

Born in Quebec, Canada, Jonathan Baran studied decorative painting in Montreal, working with the French master Stephane Moulin. There, he learned techniques applied by Europe’s master decorative painters. He has produced original artwork, designed and painted murals, architectural trompe-l’oeil, faux finishes including marbling and wood grain, and intricate glazing and patinas for clients for nearly 15 years.

While Jonathan brings artistry to every project, he especially enjoys decorative painting and the opportunity to create something unique for each client. Jonathan says, “I feel fortunate to work with quality-minded builders, designers and clients who share similar goals of expressing an original sense of place.” This sense of professionalism and integrity has developed a loyal following among his clients and craftsmen.

Jonathan takes pride in creating art that reflects the beauty of nature, the contrast of light and color, and the sculptural qualities of autos of a bygone era.

While he’s been drawn to art all of his life, he credits studies with pastels artist Irene Lester of Fair Oaks, Calif., as the strongest impetus to his expression of color. His soft pastels also are available as high-quality giclee prints reproduced in custom sizes.

Jonathan moved to Northern California in 2001 and founded Experience Decorative Painting in 2007 while he continued to explore fine art.
